Appleton Exhibits at FBC 2026 International Window, Door and Curtain Wall Expo

2026-10-30

From 28 to 30 October 2026, the FBC 2026 International Window, Door and Curtain Wall Expo took place at the China International Exhibition Centre (Shunyi Hall) in Beijing, China. Under the theme “Reshape & Revive,” the exhibition brought together more than 600 exhibitors from China and overseas, covering over 100,000 square metres of exhibition space. Through product displays, technical forums and international business-matching activities, the event highlighted emerging trends in window, door and curtain wall technologies, green building materials, urban renewal and global market development.

A Diverse Product Portfolio for Architectural Glass Applications

As the building industry places increasing emphasis on energy performance, façade design, material innovation and sustainability, architectural glass is evolving beyond individual material products towards integrated system solutions.

At FBC 2026, Appleton highlighted its product portfolio centred on U-profiled glass and its applications, covering conventional U-profiled glass, energy-efficient coated glass, translucent insulation and building-integrated photovoltaics.

Uniprof™ U-profiled glass offers distinctive design possibilities for architectural façades, daylighting envelopes and interior partitions. Its characteristic profile enables architects and designers to explore a range of applications that balance natural light with architectural expression.

Low-E coated U-profiled glass systems are designed to improve the thermal performance of building envelopes by modifying the glass surface's radiative properties. They provide additional options for projects seeking to balance façade aesthetics with energy-efficiency requirements.

The UniTIM® translucent insulation system focuses on improving the insulation performance of U-profiled glass envelopes. Through a system-based approach, it expands the potential applications of U-profiled glass in energy-efficient buildings and responds to the growing demand for high-performance building envelope solutions.

Appleton is also developing the UniPhoton™ building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system based on U-profiled glass, exploring ways to integrate photovoltaic power generation with architectural envelope materials. This approach creates new possibilities for incorporating renewable energy generation into building façades.

From daylighting envelopes and thermal insulation to building-integrated photovoltaics, these solutions reflect Appleton's ongoing efforts to enhance product performance and broaden the architectural applications of U-profiled glass.

Engaging with Industry Transformation and Emerging Trends

FBC returned to Beijing in 2026 after a six-year interval. In addition to showcasing new products and technologies across the window, door and curtain wall supply chain, the exhibition featured professional activities addressing international project delivery, renovation of existing buildings, low-carbon materials and cross-border trade.

As the construction industry increasingly combines urban renewal with a focus on higher-quality development, material manufacturers face growing expectations for product performance, system compatibility, practical project application and long-term sustainability. International markets also place greater emphasis on product standards, project delivery capabilities and supply chain coordination.

Through its participation in FBC 2026, Appleton engaged with industry professionals to exchange insights into architectural design and project requirements, while continuing to explore opportunities for U-profiled glass in different building types, façade systems and energy-efficient applications.

Driving Innovation in U-Profiled Glass Systems

As a company specialising in architectural U-profiled glass and related systems, Appleton continues to focus on improving product performance, developing integrated system solutions and expanding application scenarios. Its work aims to advance U-profiled glass beyond conventional daylighting applications towards building envelope solutions that combine architectural expression, energy performance and functional integration.

Looking ahead, Appleton will continue to engage with architects, design practices, façade contractors and industry partners to explore the potential of architectural glass in green buildings and sustainable development through material innovation and system-based applications.
